POLICYMAKERS JOIN INCLUSIVE SECURITY: WOMEN WAGING PEACE
in Considering New Approaches to Resolving World Conflicts
The Under-Secretary
General of the United Nations, the UN High Commissioner for Refugees, and
eight ambassadors, including the Pakistan and Indian Ambassadors to the U.S.
will be among the participants featured at the closing session of the Third
Annual Inclusive Security: Women Waging Peace Colloquium on November 16.
The Colloquium's Policy Day program will bring together more than 100 policymakers
from the US and other governments, the United Nations, the diplomatic community,
and non-governmental organizations (see partial list, attached). They will
join the Colloquium's delegates-some 60 women peace builders-to discuss peace
and security issues in the post-9/11 world. Inclusive Security: Women Waging Peace also will announce
a new Policy Commission that will undertake an in-depth two-year study quantifying
the impact of women on peace building.
