Inclusive Security and OAS sign MOU

On July 22, Ambassador Harriet Babbitt, senior vice president, Hunt Alternatives Fund and Jose Miguel Insulza, secretary general, OAS signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) of partnership. The purpose of the partnership between Inclusive Security: Women Waging Peace and the OAS is to promote and reinforce the full involvement of women in conflict resolution and formal peace and reconstruction processes, and to integrate a gender perspective in these processes. Grant activities include, “Training Courses on Gender, Conflict and Peace-Building” to provide governmental, political, security sector, academic, and civil society leaders (men and women) from nine countries in current or recent conflict situations with the skills to integrate a gender perspective in mediation, negotiation, peace-building, and post-conflict reconstruction.
